According to Cinetrak, 'Ghilli' has earned around Rs 3 crore in the worldwide pre-sales for the opening day with less than 24 hours to go for the film's re-release. The wide release for the entertaining film has designated it to have a massive opening, and the film is expected to earn Rs 6 crore on day 1 in Tamil Nadu. The worldwide collection for 'Ghilli' on day 1 of its re-release might go over Rs 10 crore, and Vijay's film is likely to emerge as the highest-grossing film on the opening day among re-releases.

Directed by Dharani, 'Ghilli' had an extended theatrical run of over 200 days, and it went on to become the first-ever Tamil film to collect Rs 50 crore globally.
