In an interview with TOI, Anupamaa fame Ashlesha Savant and Sandeep Baswana revealed that marriage was never on their radar; being happy and peaceful in each other's presence is their goal. Ashlesha stated that a big fat Indian wedding or wearing a mangalsutra doesn't excite her. However, her parents want her to get married to Sandeep, and because of their happiness, she might one day tie the knot with the actor. She further stated that her parents are extremely happy with her and Sandeep's relationship, so if tying the knot can make them happy, it's not a big thing. He stated that he met Ashlesha for the first time on the sets of Ekta Kapoor's Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. As Ashlesha used to stay far away from the set, she sometimes used to live in Sandeep's house, which was nearby to the sets. The frequent stays turned into a forever thing, and today the couple is together for almost 22 years.
