Kim Ji Won accused of planned tax evasion

On April 19, several K-media reports suggested that netizens had found evidence of a planned tax evasion committed by Kim Ji Won. It was recently revealed that Kim Ji Won purchased a building worth 6.30 billion KRW in Seoul's Gangnam area. The six-story building, located in a posh area, was purchased in 2021. However, quick-witted netizens found out that she had made the purchase through "Jiwon Entertainment Co., Ltd," a company where she is the representative and only worker. Internet users believe that she only set up the company to make the purchase.

Since many companies set up a paper company to avoid paying taxes, a rule was rolled out where companies can only be exempted if a purchase is made five years after the establishment. Since Kim Ji Won established her company in 2016 and made the purchase in 2021, all fingers seem to have pointed at her.

Kim's agency releases statement

On April 19, Kim Ji Won's agency HighZium Studio made an official statement through Korean media coverage. According to the report, the label stated, "We are unable to confirm anything as it involves the actress' personal matters."
