Google will launch the Pixel 8a at Google I/O 2024, featuring Tensor G3 chip, 6.1-inch OLED display, 64MP camera, IP rating, and various connectivity options, hinting at the smartphone's potential pricing and specifications. Google is expected to launch the Pixel 8a , the affordable version of the Pixel 8 series, at the Google I/O 2024 event. Ahead of the event, the rumour mill has been abuzz with leaks about the unannounced affordable Pixel smartphone and the most recent one reveals the price of the smartphone. According to the retailer's listing, Pixel 8a comes in two variants featuring 128GB storage and 256GB storage. The base 128GB, as per the listing, is priced at CAD 708.99 (approximately Rs 42,500) and the 256GB variant is priced at CAD 792.99 (approximately Rs 47,500). Based on recent leaks and rumours, Google Pixel 8a is expected to be powered by Tensor G3 chip, the same chip that powers the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
According to a report by PassionateGeekz, a Canadian retailer has listed the Pixel 8a smartphone ahead of the official unveiling of the phone.
Now, this isn't the exact pricing of the Pixel 8a at which it will be launching in India. But, it does give us a hint at the probable pricing of the upcoming affordable Pixel smartphone.
Pixel 8a: Expected specifications
Apart from this, the handset is expected to feature a 6.1-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is also speculated to come with a 64-megapixel primary camera and a secondary 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The Pixel 8a is also speculated to come with IP rating to offer water and dust resistance and wireless charging support.
Pixel 8a will come with Bluetooth, 5G and 4G LTE connectivity options along with some AI-based features.
