The

Triumph Speed 400

and its sibling, the

Scrambler 400

X, have received their first

price hike

since their respective launches last year. The former was launched at an introductory price of Rs 2.23 lakh, ex-showroom, and took the

mid-capacity segment

by a storm with its competitive pricing. However, it soon began to sell at its original price of Rs 2.33 lakh, ex-showroom, after the initial 10,000 bookings were made.

Nine months on since its debut, the model has now received a price hike.

Both models have now got costlier by Rs 1,500, which means that the

Speed

will now come at a starting price of Rs 2.35 lakh, ex-showroom, while the

Scrambler

range will commence from Rs 2.65 lakh, ex-showroom. The manufacturer has so far not revealed the reason behind the bumped prices.

Both

motorcycles

offer a compelling package of performance, style, and affordability. Powering the duo is the same 398.15 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor that makes 40 hp and 37.5 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.

Even after the slight price hike, the two models remain competitive in terms of pricing and will continue to lock horns in the mid-capacity segment with the likes of KTM 390 Duke, Bajaj Dominar 400, and Harley-Davidson X440 among other rivals.
