Aitana, a 25-year-old pink-haired sensation hailing from Barcelona, has managed to captivate not just the masses, but celebrities themselves, with her allure. Yet, there's a catch: Aitana isn't real. She's the brainchild of Rubén Cruz, the visionary behind The Clueless agency, who, amidst a professional lull, sought to revolutionise the influencer industry by birthing Spain's first AI model. Now, Aitana earns up to €10,000 (Rs 9 lakh) a month, according to her creators, but the average is usually around €3,000 (Rs 2.67 lakh).

She earns just over €1,000 per advertisement and is also endorsing a sports supplement company. And this is not her only source of income. Aitana's photos in lingerie are also uploaded to Fanvue, a platform similar to OnlyFans, where she gets more money.

She has more than 3 lakh followers on Instagram and her photos get thousands of views and reactions. Many thought she is a real person and even an actor had texted her to ask her out.

"One day, a well-known Latin American actor texted to ask her out. This actor has about 5 million followers and some of our team watched his TV series when they were kids," said Cruz.

"He had no idea Aitana didn't exist," he added.

Cruz's epiphany to create Aitana came during a turbulent period when client projects were routinely derailed by the whims of real-life influencers.

"We realized that many projects were put on hold due to issues beyond our control," Cruz disclosed to Euronews. Fueled by a desire for autonomy and stability, Cruz and his team embarked on a groundbreaking journey, birthing Aitana - an embodiment of perfection with a penchant for pink hair and an affinity for fitness.

Aitana's existence blurs the line between reality and fantasy. While her physical form is a creation of artificial intelligence and design expertise, her virtual persona pulsates with life, carefully curated by the agency team. From her weekly escapades to her intimate rendezvous, every aspect of Aitana's existence is meticulously crafted to resonate with her growing legion of followers.

Cruz envisions a future where brands can seamlessly integrate personalised models into their campaigns, free from the constraints of human egos and exorbitant fees. "They want an image that embodies their brand values without the complications of human influencers," Cruz asserted.

However, critics argue that perpetuating unrealistic beauty standards could exacerbate societal pressures and fuel unhealthy obsessions among the youth. Yet, Cruz contends that Aitana merely reflects the aesthetic cultivated by real influencers and brands. "To challenge the status quo, we must first redefine the vision of brands," Cruz declared.
