Days after six people, including five Chinese engineers who were working on the Dasu dam project, died in a suicide bombing incident in Pakistan's Bisham in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on March 26, a dashcam footage has surfaced capturing the moment when the blast takes off.

According to a Hindustan Times report, the clip was recorded by a vehicle behind the bus.

In the Shangla District's Bisham area, a tragic suicide bombing claimed the lives of six individuals, including five Chinese engineers involved in the Dasu dam project on 26 March. The incident took place when the bomber targeted the bus on its way from from Islamabad to Kohistan on the Karakoram Highway.

"It was a suicide attack on the Chinese convoy and an explosive-laden vehicle approaching from Kohistan hit the bus," Pakistan-based Dawn News quoted Bisham Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Juma Rehman as saying.

After the attack, the bus was engulfed in fire and fell down the ravine.

"A huge amount of explosives were used in the attack, the force of which threw the bus into the ravine. We have also collected body parts of the suspected suicide bomber from the site," added Rehman.

Islamabad shares a close regional alliance with Beijing, from which Pakistan has gained substantial investment amounting to billions of dollars in recent years. However, ensuring the safety of Chinese migrant workers has posed challenges for Pakistan.

Following the attack, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with cabinet members visited the Chinese embassy in the country promising a probe into the bombing. He also chaired a high-level meeting attended by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir.

The security was tightened in Bisham, especially around China's foreign projects.
