Neeru Bajwa feels Punkabi industry needs more 'professionalism'.

Actor Neeru Bajwa, who is a prominent face in the Punjabi film industry, has claimed in a new interview that the industry needs 'professionalism'. She was promoting her upcoming film 'Shayar', alongside Satinder Sartaaj.

Speaking to Indian Express, when Neeru Bajwa was asked about the one thing that the Punjabi film industry needs, she promptly said, "Professionalism. We have a lot of work to do on ourselves as well. I love my industry, and I love the people so much, but until we are professional, we are not going anywhere. We need to grow much more."

In the same interview, she also said, "Punjabi cinema is home, and I'm so proud of it. I see the growth every single year. I'm very passionate about the industry, and I want to see it grow bigger, but I also think it has tested me at times. As an actress, I think people thought that I had achieved what they thought was the epitome of success for a woman, and I took that as a challenge."

She also shared how at one point she was not getting any roles and that pushed her to be a producer. Now, while signing a film, she not just looks at the script but also the team.

"I do love doing comedies and rom-coms, but now, everything matters to me - my co-star, director, writer, cameraman - because I need a nice positive atmosphere where everybody gets along and we make a beautiful film. Because sometimes, when you get the right script and the wrong co-star or the wrong director, that film just gets destroyed. One person does not make a project, it's all the people together."

Neeru Bajwa and Satinder Sartaaj's 'Shayar' was released in theatres on April 19.
