Addressing an election campaign for Congress candidate Raju Alagur here on Friday, Siddaramaiah said Modi has not worked for the poor, youth, Dalits and minorities in his 10-year term. "He just stirs up emotions, talks about religions and castes without speaking about his govt's achievements.

Going by his recent speeches, he seems disappointed about BJP not doing well in the first phase of elections. So he keeps bringing up unrelated issues," he alleged.

"Articles 15 and 16 of the Constitution clearly state that reservation should be given to socially and educationally backward communities. It includes Hindus, Muslims, and Christians. It cannot be said that reservation cannot be given to Muslims. Modi is speaking against the Constitution. It is unbecoming of the PM to allege that reservation is taken away from Hindus and given to Muslims. In 1977, Havanur Commission for Minorities had recommended reservation. Chinnappa Reddy Commission has also recommended the same. Modi speaks as if reservation is unconstitutional. This is an attempt to polarise people. None of the elected MPs spoke about injustice meted out to Karnataka."
