The lifestyle SUV segment is gaining popularity in India since the launch of Mahindra Thar. To challenge Mahindra in this segment, many manufacturers including Maruti and Toyota have launched new models. However, it is only the Thar that rules the segment, leaving the popular Hilux & Jimny behind. But now, the underdog Japanese pick-up, the Isuzu V-Cross is all set to challenge the Thar in this segment. The upcoming SUV will soon receive a facelift and will also rival the likes of the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio-N pick-up truck!

Overview

So as we can see, the teaser reveals a few key details of what the new V-Cross will offer. Now it appears that the V-Cross will continue to look the same as the current model. However, we can see some tweaks done on the front and rear bumpers. The side profile can be seen with new black claddings which enhances the muscular stance of the SUV. The front grille looks refreshed with more blacked-out elements. Rest, there is some use of chrome on side steps, ORVMs, door handles and around the headlamps.

The interior can also be seen in the new teaser. We can see black and brown colour theme for the seats. Rest, expect similar equipment list on the new Isuzu V-Cross which includes 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 3D Electro-luminescent analogue instrument cluster with MID, idle stop/start system, 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat and USB ports. That said, it will be interesting to see what all new features the brand offers.

Isuzu V-Cross - Specifications

The Isuzu V-Cross will likely continue to get the 1.9-litre diesel engine. This engine produces 161bhp and 360Nm of peak torque. The transmission options include 6-speed AT for 2WD and 6-speed AT & 6-speed MT for 4WD variants.

Launch & Price

Isuzu Motors have teased the V-Cross facelift for the first time on its social media platforms. That said, we can expect them to launch the SUV by the first week of May 2024. Once launched, the SUV will continue to rival the likes of Toyota Hilux. Regarding pricing, we can expect a hike of Rs 50k to Rs 80k, depending on the variants. Currently, the Isuzu V-Cross has been priced between Rs 23.69 to Rs 32.90 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
