Full match player ratings below:

Andriy Lunin—6.5: Immediately called upon as the game started with a big save on Leroy Sane. Arguably could have done more to stop Leroy Sane's goal later in the second half with the ball beating him at his near post.

Lucas Vazquez—5: Coming off the high of his El Clasico performance, Lucas failed to replicate that form. Muisala was a constant danger and Lucas ended up fouling the young German in the box to give away a penalty.

Rudiger—6: Tried to keep track of Muller and Kane's movement. The Englishman managed to slip free and drop into deep pockets on a few occassions, causing Madrid trouble.

Nacho—6: Started and played 65 minutes before being replaced by Camavinga and moving Tchoaumeni back to center back. The Sane - Muisiala - Muller - Kane front line was difficult to hold back.

Ferland Mendy—5.5: Leroy Sane has proven to be the one player that has been able to get the better of the Frenchman in a 1 v 1 duel. The fullback had a bandage on his leg and unclear how fit he was for the match.

Fede Valverde—6: Played on the right of a midfield four but was forced in defensive positions for much of the match. Interesting duel with Goretzka who shares similar characteristics to Valverde.

Toni Kroos—8.5: When Madrid's backs were against the wall, Kroos came up big with a killer vertical pass through the heart of the Bayern defense into an on-running Vinicius Junior. It was vintage Kroos and one of the assits' of the season.

Tchouameni—7: Started the match as the defensive midfielder and finished the game as a center back. Stood out for his long range passing, hitting four of four, including a cross-field switch to Vinicius Junior that led to the penalty in favor of Madrid.

Jude Bellingham—6: Earned a dangerous free kick just outside the box after beating out Mazaraoui to the ball. Managed 1 key pass and 2 completed dribbles but will feel like he should have made a greater impact on the match.

Vinicius Junior—9: Has become a lethal and clinical striker playing in a more central role. His movement was fantastic and his composure in front of goal was invaluable. Two goals away from home against one of the best teams in the world — Vinicius Junior shows up when the big games roll around. A top three player in the world.

Rodrygo—6: Started on the left but moved to the right flank in the second half. Struggled to get involved but did draw the crucial penalty late in the game with a fluid body movement.

Substitutions:

Eduardo Camavinga—6: Struggled to get to the pace of the game, but gradually found his footing.

Luka Modric—7: Played a perfect looping ball over the top of the Bayern defense to Vini JR, but the Brazilian was unable to convert the chance.

Brahim Diaz—N/A: Twelve touches and two passes during his limited minutes on the field.

Joselu—N/A: Played the final three minutes of the match and had a few flicks that retained possesion or drew fouls from a Bayern defender.
