If bizarre daytime-TV clips were a source of energy, Drew Barrymore would be generating enough power to keep all of Manhattan running. Most recently, Barrymore welcomed Vice-President Kamala Harris to join her on the couch, where the two women discussed their co-parenting setups, Barrymore with her ex-husband and his wife; Harris with her husband, Douglas Emhoff, and his ex-wife. Things took a turn, and somehow Barrymore ended up telling the vice-president of the United States that the country needs her to be "Momala."

"I keep thinking in my head that we all need a mom. I've been thinking that we all need a tremendous hug in the world right now," Barrymore told Harris. "But in our country, we need you to be Momala of the country." The crowd, all women for the first time in the show's history, burst into applause. Harris seemed to be holding in one of her signature laughs, but perhaps I'm projecting.

In case you don't keep up with the personal life of the VP, Momala is the nickname bestowed upon Harris by her stepchildren, Cole and Ella Emhoff. As Harris herself explained to Barrymore, she doesn't love the term "stepmom."

"I love Disney, however, Disney kind of messed that up for a lot of us over the years," Harris said. "You know, the evil stepparent."

So instead, they call her Momala. It's a cutesy family name that also makes Harris seem more relatable to the electorate. Kind of like how we know that Joe Biden's grandchildren call him Pop. Although I don't think he has ever been in the position where the star of Never Been Kissed tearfully grabbed his hands and told him that he needs to be Pop for the country.
