JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Polisi mengimbau masyarakat untuk berhenti membagikan video bunuh diri selebgram berinisial FM (31) atau yang dikenal dengan nama Meli Joker.

"Mohon untuk media atau orang-orang yang aktif bermain media sosial untuk menyetop atau tidak menyebarkan lagi video tersebut," ujar Kanit Reskrim Polsek Kebayoran Lama AKP Suwarno di kantornya, Rabu (17/4/2024).

Penyebaran video harus dihentikan karena dapat menjadi inspirasi bagi orang lain yang memiliki niatan serupa.

Selain itu, video tersebut dapat merusak generasi masa depan, sehingga harus benar-benar dihentikan.

"Karena ini sudah beredar luas di medsos, agar anak-anak kita ke depan, keluarga kita jangan sampai mengikuti jejak-jejaknya korban. Kemudian, supaya tidak menjadi contoh untuk generasi kita ke depan," tutur dia.

Lebih lanjut, Suwarno mengungkapkan, bunuh diri merupakan perilaku tak terpuji yang dilarang agama.

Maka dari itu, jangan sampai ada masyarakat yang terinspirasi.

"Hal tersebut tidak baik dan tidak dibenarkan oleh hukum maupun dari agama kita," ungkap dia.

Sebagai informasi, FM ditemukan tewas gantung diri sambil melakukan siaran langsung di Instagram pribadinya.

Aksi itu dilakukan FM di kediamannya, kawasan Kebayoran Lama, Jakarta Selatan.

Korban lalu ditemukan sudah dalam keadaan tak bernyawa oleh keluarganya pada Minggu (14/4/2024) di kamar mandi.

FM diketahui menggunakan celana panjang berwarna krem sebagai alat untuk gantung diri.
