Nashville International Airport (BNA) is expected to have a near-record number of passengers Sunday.

Nashville NBC affiliate WSMV reports BNA is expected to have over 42,000 passenger departures Sunday, coming close to the record of 43,447 passengers set in October of 2023.

Bracing for the rush of passengers, BNA reportedly bolstered parking and valet staff, and is working with the Department of Public Safety to manage the expected heavier-than-normal traffic around the airport Sunday.

The airport is also urging travelers to use alternate routes to access BNA, which include using Exit 216A, Exit 216B and Murfreesboro Pike.

Passengers departing from BNA should also allow for extra time for parking, checking in and security before their flights.

You can also sign up for BNA text alerts online.
