If you've been playing Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut since its latest update went live, you've probably ran into this issue.

When Patch 2.19 came out for Ghost of Tsushima, to better prepare for the PC launch and thus crossover play, fans noticed problems early on.

Chiefly, they kept experiencing the game freezing.

According to Sucker Punch, this freezing bug was caused by a "backend issue", an issue that the developers now say has been resolved.

This is fantastic news for fans who've been suffering; even more so because you don't need to download any additional updates.

"This does not require a game update, but we recommend restarting your game or console to ensure you have the fix," Sucker Punch tweeted.

Fans who've restarted their consoles to see if it does work have been pleasantly surprised; "That seems to have sorted it. Nice one!" commented one player.

That same player had questions, though, specifically how the devs could rectify the issue without gamers needing to download an update.

Fortunately, fellow fans came to their aid with possible theories/reasons.

"It was a backend issue - means servers. So, they just had to fix the server-side," reads one explanation.

Hopefully, this will be the end of said issue now. However, the devs have requested that players keep them abreast of any further problems and/or new issues.

They're still "actively monitoring the issue", which means they should be able to quickly adapt should the problem still persist for some.

For those still waiting for the PC port, that's due to launch 16 May, meaning we haven't got long to wait at all.

We can't wait for new gamers to experience this game; as one fan said, "Make sure you grab this, [it's] one of the best samurai games I've ever played."
