Notre Dame received good news over the weekend and could be set for more come Monday afternoon.

The biggest recruiting story from the weekend that was in women's basketball of course involved the transfer portal. No. 9 in 247Sports' transfer rankings, Liza Karlen committed to Notre Dame after leaving Marquette. Karlen averaged 17.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks last season. Karlen could be a major factor in helping the Irish advance to the Final 4 in 2024-25.

Coach Niele Ivey's Irish will be loaded with talent on paper once again headlined by All-American level guards Hannah Hidalgo and Olivia Miles. Going into the weekend, Karlen was the highest ranked prospect remaining in the Portal and a big addition this late in the cycle.

The Irish might also get some news on the high school recruiting front as they're a potential landing spot for Class of 2025 recruit Leah Macy of Bardstown HS (Kentucky). Macy will announce her decision on Monday afternoon.
