CLOVIS, N.M. (KRQE) - A 10-month-old girl, Eleia Maria Torres, has been found alive, and a suspect is in custody, according to the FBI Albuquerque Division. On Friday, an Amber alert was issued for 10-month-old Torres.

A 26-year-old Texas man is now in custody, accused of abducting a 10-month-old girl, in connection with the murder of two Texico women. Clovis Police and federal officials announced at a press conference Monday evening, saying that the suspect was found at a home in Abilene, Tx, where the 10-month-old was also found alive.

"Eleia Maria Torres has been found and she is currently recovering at the hospital, with… she's currently recovering at a hospital," said Deputy Chief of the Clovis Police Department, Trevor Thron. "No injuries were reported."

Police identified the suspect as Alek Isaiah Collins from the Houston area. Police say they believe Collins was staying at a residence in North Abilene with the child. Around 4:30 Monday morning, investigators moved in and arrested Collins without incident.

This case unfolded Friday night, at a park in north Clovis where two women were found dead- including the mother of the 10-month-old. A five-year-old was also found at that park with a gunshot wound and is now recovering in the hospital. So far, police do not believe that Collins is related to the victims. Investigators said today, they're still trying to figure out the motive behind the crime, and still processing evidence.

"We're not done yet," said Raul Bujanda, FBI Special Agent in Charge in Albuquerque. "We're going to make sure this case is rock solid. We want to make sure the suspect pays for the heartache we're all feeling today."

Collins is being held at a jail in Abilene on aggravated robbery and assault on a peace officer charges, in the State of Texas. Police say the 10-month-old girl is in "good health" but was taken to the hospital earlier today as a precautionary measure.

Collins also has a federal hold tied to the Clovis abduction and murders, but no charges have been filed yet in the case.
