Superman suit photo gives our first look at the new film

The first Superman suit photo has arrived giving us our first real taste of the upcoming DC Universe film.

James Gunn released the first official photo of the new Superman suit from the upcoming 2025 film on Monday. The question that has divided fans for some time now has finally been answered: The suit will have the red trunks.

We're sure there will be additional photos in the coming days that will allows us to see the suit from more angles. There also feels like a good chance it will be on display at San Diego Comic-Con this July.

Usually when a film reveals photos like this, it means production is about to move outside of the confines of the studio. Expect set photos in the coming days which may also give us some early looks at the other characters such as Lois Lane and Lex Luthor.

As for the beam in the sky, no word as of yet if it is part of the plot of the film or just specifically for this image. As Superman is to be an established hero when the film begins, it is probable this is not related to the story of the film.

The cast is set to include David Corenswet as Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. They will all be joined by Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, and María Gabriela de Faría as the Engineer.

Superman will hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
