OBVIOUSLY, WE WANT EVERYBODY TO BE SAFE FOR SURE. COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THAT PROM HAD TO BE CANCELED. BUT MY GOODNESS. WOW, WHAT A DAY. I KNOW. AND WE'VE HAD A LOT OF EVENTS PLANNED FOR TODAY. AND YET PROM HAD TO BE ONE. AND WE'VE ALREADY SEEN SOME SCHOOLS START TO RESCHEDULE PROM AND YOU HOPE THEY ALL GET THAT OPPORTUNITY. BUT EDMOND PUBLIC SCHOOLS CANCELED THEIR PROM FOR ALL THREE OF THEIR HIGH SCHOOLS TONIGHT. PUTNAM CITY HIGH SCHOOL, AS WELL AS SANTA FE SOUTH CHARTER YUKON MOORE PUBLIC SCHOOLS. THEIR PROMS HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED, AND THEN THEY'LL GET TO DO THAT TOMORROW. SO GLAD TO HEAR IT'LL BE RESCHEDULED. WE KNOW THAT'S VERY, VERY IMPORTANT TO THE STUDENTS AND STAFF. SO AND TOMORROW'S LOOK A LOT BETTER THAN TODAY. AND YEAH, I MEAN AND THAT'S THE BIG THING I KNOW IT'S TOUGH FOR THESE KIDS BECAUSE YOU PUT A LOT INTO IT AND THEY LOOK FORWARD TO IT ALL YEAR LONG FOR SURE. AND BUT YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE SAFE. AND IN TONIGHT'S IT'S IT'S STILL THIS ISN'T OVER. THE THREAT IS NOT OVER. I KNOW DAMON SAID. WE'RE IN A LITTLE BIT OF A LULL RIGHT NOW WHEN IT COMES TO THE, UM, YOU KNOW, EXTREME STORMS, BECAUSE WE'VE HAD TORNADO WARNINGS SEVERAL THROUGHOUT THE DAY, BUT IT'S NOT OVER. WE STILL HAVE SOME EXPECTED THROUGHOUT THE EVENING. WELL, AND SPEAKING OF THINGS THAT WERE GOING ON TODAY AND EITHER HAD TO BE CANCELED OR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF IT, THERE WERE SOME FESTIVALS GOING ON DOWNTOWN. I THINK THE FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS, IT CLOSED TODAY BECAUSE BECAUSE OF THE STORMS, KEEPING FOLKS SAFE. BUT AGAIN, THEY ARE ALSO

Events across the Oklahoma City area were canceled Saturday as severe weather moves across the state.

The Festival of the Arts closed for the day in Oklahoma City. They will reopen at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The Norman Music Alliance canceled all outdoor events at the festival and the Sooner Theatre out of an abundance of caution.
