Last season, the Durham, North Carolina native averaged 7.39 yards per carry, the second highest in UT single-season history (minimum 100 attempts) behind Hank Lauricella's 7.94 record set during the 1951 season. During the 2023 season, Wright had 197 rushing attempts for 1,013 yards. He also recorded a broad jump of 11 feet, 2 inches at the NFL combine, the second longest in NFL combine history.
