A fourth former Kentucky Wildcats player has been taken in the NFL Draft.

The Wildcats have had their second straight quarterback drafted and their fourth overall in the modern era, as Devin Leary was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in Round 6 of the 2024 draft.

Leary will now compete for a backup spot behind Lamar Jackson.

Leary first jumped on NFL radars in 2021 with a historically great season for NC State, throwing for 3,433 yards and a school-record 35 touchdowns vs. just five interceptions. With hopes of following that up in 2022, he was marred with inconsistent play and a torn pectoral injury that sidelined him for six months.

While he healed successfully, that inconsistency followed him as he transferred to Kentucky this past season. For the Wildcats, Leary threw for over 2,700 yards and 25 scores but completed just 56.3% of his passes, the worst since his freshman season.

That said, Leary played some of his best football at the end of the season, including a three-touchdown game in the regular season finale against then-No. 10 Louisville and a 300-yard game in the Gator Bowl loss to Clemson.

At the NFL Draft Combine back in March, Leary helped his draft stock. With just average size and athleticism, his measurables didn't jump off the page, but he impressed in some of the passing drills, specifically in the short passing and gauntlet drills. Leary also displayed a ball velocity of 60 MPH, the third-highest of all QB prospects.

Best of luck to Leary in the pros!
