See what grade Mel Kiper gave the Titans 2024 draft

Grading an NFL Draft before a player ever sets foot on the field is crazy, but we all can't help but look at the grades around the internet. Mel Kiper, who made being a draft analyst a thing, isn't in love with the Tennessee Titans draft. He gave it a C+.

That shouldn't come as a surprise because he had the Titans as one of his teams that made a head-scratching move on night one. Kiper has apparently never heard of Bill Callahan, but that's not what we are talking about last night.

He was also pretty outspoken on the broadcast about how much of a reach the T'Vondre Sweat pick was. He has the same concerns about everyone else about the off the field stuff as well. That's fair, but like I wrote last night, let's give Sweat a chance to prove he has learned his lesson with all of that stuff before we lose our minds.

Here is part of what Kiper had to say about the Titans draft class:

Yes, the offense ranked 31st in sack rate per dropback (11.1%) last season and allowed 64 sacks, which were the second-most in the history of its franchise. But as I wrote Thursday night, I have doubts about whether Latham can play left tackle, and the Titans have now taken a right tackle and guard in the top 11 in back-to-back drafts. Is that the best use of high picks? I'm not so sure, though I do think Latham can be a physically imposing run-blocker.

And here is how he ended his commentary:

If Latham makes an easy conversion to left tackle and immediately dominates, this class looks much better. As is, I don't love the value overall.

I look forward to Bill Callahan and JC Lathan making Kiper love the value.
