Ryan Gosling celebrated the Hollywood premiere of his new movie The Fall Guy by bringing back his viral Saturday Night Live character, who looks like Beavis. After walking the red carpet in a more traditional suit with co-star Emily Blunt, Gosling returned in costume alongside SNL cast member Mikey Day, who was dressed like Butt-Head.

The duo's live-action versions of Beavis and Butt-Head first appeared in an SNL sketch that aired during the April 13 episode, which Gosling hosted. In the skit, Heidi Gardner played a news anchor interviewing a professor (Kenan Thompson) about the dangers of AI. But Thompson's character couldn't focus because two audience members, Jeff (Day) and Dean (Gosling), were distracting him with their uncanny resemblance to the '90s cartoon characters. It resulted in Gardner breaking when she turned around to look at Day.

The sketch ultimately got millions of views on YouTube. Gardner explained her uncontrolled reaction in an interview with Vulture, saying, "I just couldn't prepare for what I saw. I really tried. I even saw Mikey out of the corner of my eye seconds before I went live. I saw the red shorts. I knew I couldn't look over there again. Mikey even told me later that he was bending down and hiding himself so I wouldn't see him."

During the SNL episode, Gosling was joined by Blunt during his monologue to promote The Fall Guy, in theaters May 3. The actors each bid farewell to their respective characters in last summer's blockbusters, Barbie and Oppenheimer, by channelling Taylor Swift's "All Too Well."
