A male is dead and another is in custody after a stabbing at an Etobicoke home on Thursday afternoon.

Toronto Police say emergency crews were called to a residence at Bemersyde Dr. and Bournemouth Rd. — near Kipling and Eglinton Aves. — shortly after 2 p.m.

Police said a male victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the Homicide Unit has taken carriage of the investigation.

The circumstances surrounding the stabbing weren't immediately known.

However, police said there was no threat to public safety.
