Tracy Moore, who hosted the show since 2008, will be hosting a new lifestyle show as part of an expansion of Breakfast Television, which will begin in September.

Citytv's lifestyle talk show, Cityline, is ending after 40 years on the air.

Host Tracy Moore announced the news Tuesday morning on her Instagram page.

"I have been grappling with this as much as our viewers have been grappling with this. There is no other way to say it, this process has been difficult," Moore said.

"Am I a little heartbroken? Absolutely," she added.

The show discussed the latest lifestyle trends and offered expert advice from fashion to cooking and home decor.

Moore, who hosted the show since 2008, will be hosting a new lifestyle show as part of an expansion of Breakfast Television, which will begin in September.

"We're excited to build on this legacy and evolve the format with a new one-hour live national lifestyle show airing weekday mornings with Tracy Moore under the successful Breakfast Television brand. We thank the Cityline team and all the guest experts over the years for their unwavering dedication and contributions," a Citytv spokesperson said in an email to Now Toronto.

Citytyv did not provide a comment on the job status of other Cityline staff.

Although Moore said in her Instagram post caption that "today is a tough one," she is excited to embark on a new journey.

"We love you. I love you. And I'm grateful for the chance to build on Cityline's legacy and evolve what each one of you have come to know and trust on this platform," she wrote.

Cityline will continue with new episodes until this Friday, May 3, and encore episodes will run into the summer, until the new show begins in the fall.

The new show is an additional fifth live hour of Breakfast Television that will air from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. More details are set to be announced in the coming months.

Citytv said the live format will allow for more flexibility in how it produces and delivers lifestyle content on its platforms.

Canadians have been reacting online to the news with mixed emotions.

"I'm crying 😭! Butttt yet I know you'll do bigggg things coming in September and I'm praying 🙏 that is true!" one person said on Instagram.

"Congratulations on a job well done and excited for the new segment!" another said.

"You are Canada's sweetheart….I need a moment to find the right words. Not sure if there are any, excited to see what unfolds for you. Sending love  🤎," another said.
