ROME, N.Y. -- A national clothing store with a location in Rome has announced that all 540 locations in the U.S. are closing.

Rue21 is set to close its doors, including the store at Freedom Plaza.

Rue21, a mall staple for teen apparel, is going out of business and closing all 540 of its stores within the coming weeks.

This teen apparel retailer filed for bankruptcy earlier this week due to its outstanding debts and inability to recover from its 2017 bankruptcy declaration.

The exact closing date for the Rome store has not been announced yet.
