Patrick Mahomes gave his thoughts on the outcome of the upcoming boxing match between heavyweight legend Mike Tyson and YouTuber Jake Paul on Thursday.

In an appearance on the IMPAULSIVE podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs superstar mentioned that he was "scared of Mike Tyson" although he outlined a potential scenario in which Paul could earn a victory.

"I think if Jake can make the fight last for a little bit longer, he is going to win," Mahomes said (40:35 mark). "But if he gets hit the wrong way, it will not be good for him."

Tyson's stamina has been widely discussed, as the boxing legend will be 58 years old when he steps into the ring on July 20. With Paul just 27 years old, the 31-year age gap between the two represents the largest in professional boxing history.

Paul is coming off two knockout victories over Andre August and Ryan Bourland, with his most recent win occurring against Bourland on March 2. He's earned three straight wins after losing a split decision to Tommy Fury in Feb. 2023.

As for Tyson, his last matchup occurred against Roy Jones Jr. in a Nov. 2020 exhibition match. The bout ended in a split draw.

While there were initially some questions regarding the battle between Tyson and Paul, it was announced on Monday that the fight would be officially sanctioned and count for professional records (h/t ESPN's Andreas Hale). The two will use 14-ounce gloves, and the match will take place over eight two-minute rounds.

Mahomes appears to be confident in Paul if the fight goes the distance, although he likely won't be surprised if Tyson can get in a few good shots early and swing momentum.
