It was once home to clothing stores like PacSun, American Eagle Outfitters, Aeropostale, Express, Wet Seal, Gap, Hot Topic and The Limited among others.

But with Rue21 closing all of its stores, it appears that the struggling Colonial Park Mall in Lower Paxton Township, outside of Harrisburg, will be without any fashion-forward clothing retail chains that once ruled the shopping center.

Signs at the Rue21 store on Friday at the Colonial Park Mall say "Nothing Held Back!", "All Sales Final - No Returns". The store has been at the mall for a decade.

Rue21 is a fashion-forward casual apparel retailer focused on teenagers; and sells clothing, accessories and shoes among other items.

The Allegheny County-based clothing retailer filed for bankruptcy in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware on Thursday,

In the bankruptcy filing, Rue21 said it recently "suffered operational losses stemming from, among other things, underperforming retail locations, the continued growth of online shopping and industry competition, inflation and macroeconomic headwinds, and difficulties raising capital in an amount sufficient to meet their liquidity needs and fund operations."

Rue21 plans to close all of its more than 540 stores. The closing sales are expected to take place over the next four to six weeks.

These are the last 21 Rue21 stores in Pennsylvania, according to the company's website:
