MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The Red Sox optioned Bobby Dalbec to Triple-A Worcester and activated second baseman Vaughn Grissom from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Grissom will bat seventh and play second base vs. the Twins on Friday here at Target Field.

Boston acquired Grissom from the Braves for starter Chris Sale on Dec. 30. The 23-year-old began the season on the IL after suffering a hamstring injury a couple of weeks into spring training. He has a career .287/.339/.407/.746 line in 64 major league games (236 plate appearances).

Grissom went 10-for-30 (.333) with a .444 on-base percentage, two doubles, two RBIs, three runs, two steals, five walks and nine strikeouts in nine rehab games for the WooSox.

Dalbec batted just .132 with a .207 on-base percentage, .170 slugging percentage, .377 OPS, two doubles, four RBIs, four walks and 28 strikeouts in 22 games (59 plate appearances). Dalbec has struck out in 50% of his plate appearances over the past two seasons (112 plate appearances).

He has batted .203 with a .272 on-base percentage, .337 slugging percentage and .608 OPS in 160 games since the start of the 2022 season.
