VINTAGE LIKE MYSELF, VINTAGE AND BIZARRE LIKE MYSELF. 24 HOURS IS OBVIOUSLY SUCH A LONG TIME TO SPEND IN A MOVIE THEATER, SO SHOWCASE HAS SET UP A REFRESHMENTS TABLE WITH ALL OF THE ESSENTIALS LIKE TOOTHPASTE, TOOTHBRUSHES, AND MINTS SO PEOPLE CAN STAY AS COMFORTABLE AS POSSIBLE WATCHING THEIR FAVORITE FILMS. Legacy Place Showcase Cinemas in Dedham is hosting New England's only Star Wars movie marathon, attracting 200 fans for a nostalgic viewing experience."Listen to the music, look at the crowd here," said Drew Shadrawy, a fan from Newton. "It's an event. It is about feeling the force flow through."The theater, brimming with the force, accommodated 200 fans across two auditoriums to watch all nine films in the iconic saga. "So we go through A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and then we go into the final three as we get into the day (Saturday)," Mark Malinowski, vice president of global marketing at Showcase Cinemas, said.Fans, many of whom were decked out in their favorite Star Wars-themed gear and memorabilia, embraced the marathon with enthusiasm. Showcase Cinemas set up a refreshments table with marathon binge-watching essentials like toothpaste, toothbrushes, and mints.Some fans came prepared with their own survival packs."I brought a change of clothes, I brought a neck pillow, I brought some Advil, some extra water. Now I'm ready," said Bruce Mendelsohn."We got a pillow and blanket so we're good to go just in case. I hear Starbucks is open throughout the night so we might get a couple coffees there," said Frank McManus and Lynn Reed.John Pratico, who attended the marathon with his 8-year-old daughter, shared his nostalgia. "I was around my daughter's age when the original episode one came out in the pre-release way back in the day, so it's kind of a coming-of-age thing to see them in theaters," Pratico said.Reed echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the unique experience of watching the films in a cinema. "It will be different with the different color and the sound and everything at the cinema. That's what will be amazing," Reed said.
