CLEMSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Clemson University recently filed an amended lawsuit alleging that "slander" from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) damaged the school's interests and properties.

The new lawsuit filed on April 17 was an amended version of the one filed by Clemson in March.

According to the new lawsuit, Clemson is now seeking damages from the ACC, claiming that the conference made false statements about the Grant of Rights agreements between the two.

Clemson argued in the lawsuit that they did not grant the ACC the media rights to broadcast any games that Clemson plays after leaving the conference, despite statements from the ACC claiming that they did.

The lawsuit stated that these statements from the ACC damaged Clemson's efforts to pursue opportunities with other collegiate conferences and media providers.

The ACC countersued Clemson in March, trying to force the school to abide by the conference's broadcast rights agreement through 2036 and pay a withdrawal fee if they decide to leave.

On May 2, a judge in Pickens County ruled that Clemson could view agreements between the ACC and ESPN as they prepare for the trial.
