Asteroid 2022 AA5: Know all the details about this upcoming space rock here.

Earth has recently escaped the terror of a monstrous 980-foot asteroid today, April 30th. As per the details shared by NASA, this gigantic asteroid 2022 AA5 is said to be crossed at a distance of 4.43 million miles at a speed of 63855 kmph. Now, NASA has said that another space rock is moving towards Earth at half of the distance of the massive asteroid 2022 TN1.

The shared details of NASA's JPL has mentioned that the asteroid is expected to pass within a distance of approximately 2.86 million miles (4.6 million kilometres) from Earth on May 2nd. NASA's NEOWISE mission's telescope tracks asteroids and comets on a regular basis. This upcoming Asteroid 2022 AA5 is racing towards Earth at a fiery speed of 32093 kmph. Will it pose any impact on Earth? Know what NASA has said.

Do asteroids hit Earth? You may get many news reports and space updates about the upcoming asteroids that are making close approach towards the Earth. Approximately 66 million years ago, a catastrophic event reshaped life on Earth when an asteroid, estimated to be between 6 to 9 miles in diameter, collided with our planet. This cosmic intruder, now known as the Chicxulub impactor, left an indelible mark in the form of a massive crater located beneath the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico.

The impact site, christened after the nearby town of Chicxulub Pueblo, is a testament to the sheer force of this collision. Spanning an immense 120 miles across and plunging 12 miles deep, the Chicxulub crater serves as a stark reminder of the profound consequences that can arise from extraterrestrial encounters. While buried beneath the surface, this colossal scar remains a subject of intense scientific study, offering insights into the cataclysmic events that precipitated the extinction of the dinosaurs and paved the way for the emergence of new life forms on our ever-evolving planet.

However, not every asteroid make a threat to Earth. NASA has assured that the Asteroid 2022 AA5 will safely zip past the Earth without causing any concern.
