Jade Cargill Wins First WWE Championship At WWE Backlash France

Jade Cargill has captured her first WWE championship just seven months after signing with the company!

In the semi-main event of WWE Backlash France, Jade Cargill competed in her first WWE match for a championship. The former AEW star teamed with Bianca Belair to challenge WWE Women's Tag Team Champions The Kabuki Warriors.

Despite some confusion in the middle of the bout, most notably involving Kairi Sane attempting a pin despite not being the legal competitor of her team, the match spotlighted Cargill with a strong showing as per usual.

In the end, Cargill took out Sane with a Jaded before Belair followed up with a KOD on Asuka, driving her directly on Sane, and got the pinfall win.

Quite possibly the biggEST storm to ever hit this division.

Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair Win The WWE Women's Tag Titles

This marks the second WWE title change to ever take place in France, with the first occurring all the way back in 1989 when Rockin Robin defeated Sensational Sherri for the WWF Women's Championship at a WWE live event in Paris.

On top of this being Cargill's first championship since joining WWE, this also marks the second championship win of her professional wrestling career overall following her AEW TBS Championship win in 2022.

For Belair meanwhile, this is her very first reign with the Women's Tag Team Championship. In doing so, Bianca is now just one title away from becoming the seventh Women's Grand Slam Champion in WWE history.

To achieve that, however, she'd have to win the NXT Women's Championship - a title she never captured during her several years on the black and gold brand.
