Spears had a fight with Paul Richard Soliz at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles before the injury, PEOPLE has learned Updated on May 3, 2024 04:05PM EDT Britney Spears has hurt her ankle.
The pop icon, 42, injured herself during a visit to the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles this week, and "paramedics showed up at my door," she shared in an Instagram post on Thursday, May 2.
"I really twisted my ankle last night like an idiot. This is to show proof," said Spears in a video showing off her swollen appendage while sitting on a carpeted floor. "F---ing idiot here tries to do a leap in the living room at the Cheateau, and I fell, embarrassed myself, and that's it."
According to Spears, "paramedics came to my door" and "caused this huge scene." She added, "But yeah, it is actually pretty bad ... but s--- happens."
Following reports of an incident involving Spears at the Chateau Marmont, PEOPLE can confirm the "Piece of Me" singer had a fight with Paul Richard Soliz — whom she was first linked to following her split from ex-husband Sam Asghari in August 2023 — at the hotel. Spears and Asghari's divorce was finalized on Thursday, as a judge with the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County signed off on the paperwork, per court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Shortly before receiving the judge's signature, Asghari and Spears reached a settlement in their split. Per documents obtained by PEOPLE, the former spouses upheld the terms of their prenuptial agreement.
"The divorce was amicable and the prenup was not challenged," a source told PEOPLE. "Britney is continuing to flex her freedom and is moving on."
Last week, Spears also settled with her father Jamie Spears regarding legal fees after a two-and-half-year battle following the end of her conservatorship. On April 25, the pair settled for an undisclosed sum in Los Angeles Superior Court.
