Lexington teacher who spent over a year hospitalized dies

A teacher in Kentucky has died after a long battle with an infection that stemmed from a common cold. (Source: WKYT)

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A Lexington teacher has passed away.

Emily Presley's husband, Jeff Presley, confirmed her death to the Lexington Herald-Leader.

In 2022, a severe infection developed from a cold, leading to 16 months of hospitalization and two lung transplants.

Presley's celebration of life will be held on saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Services will follow after at 1 to 2 p.m. at Southland Christian Church in Nicholasville.
