INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Pacers won a series in the NBA Playoffs for the first time in a decade—and now they're setting their sights on an old rival.

The Pacers, who beat Milwaukee 120-98 Thursday night to advance in the postseason, will take on the New York Knicks. New York outlasted Philadelphia 118-115 to close out their first-round series.

During the regular season, the Pacers and Knicks met three times, with Indiana winning two of those games. They last met on Feb. 10, when the Pacers topped the Knicks 125-111 in a road game.

New York is the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, while the Pacers are the No. 6 seed. That means the Knicks hold homecourt advantage in the upcoming best-of-seven series.

The teams have a storied history in the NBA Playoffs, meeting six times in the postseason between 1993 and 2000 during the Reggie Miller era. They played in the conference finals three times during that span.

Since that run, they've encountered each other only once in the postseason, a 2013 series that the Pacers won to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

The entirety of the series will be carried on national TV, with games airing on TNT, ESPN or ABC. Starting this round, playoff games will no longer air on Bally Sports Indiana (although Comcast/Xfinity customers were out of luck in that regard last night).

The series tips off Monday, May 6, at Madison Square Garden, with Game 2 set for Wednesday, May 8. Action then shifts to Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday, May 10, and Sunday, May 12, for Games 3 and 4.

Dates and times for the remaining games will be announced at a later date.

Here's a look at the playoff schedule for the Eastern Conference Semifinals:

Tickets for game three and game four will go on sale starting at 2 p.m. on Friday for Pacers Insiders. Tickets will go on sale for the rest of the general public at 4 p.m.
