'You've got me rattled': Cooper Cronk's cheeky swipe at ex-teammate Cameron Munster after milestone match

Six-time premiership winner Cooper Cronk couldn't resist giving former Melbourne Storm teammate Cameron Munster a brutal reality check following his 200th NRL game on Saturday.

Munster, who won his first NRL premiership alongside Cronk in 2017, celebrated the milestone match with a 22-20 victory over the Titans on the Gold Coast, diving over in the 20th minute.

It was an entertaining, yet controversial clash at Cbus Super Stadium, with the Gold Coast fighting back from 20-6 down to level the scores in the 55th minute.

However, speaking to Fox League after the game, Munster was quickly brought back down to earth when Cronk handed down his assessment of the five-eighth's performance - with tongue firmly in cheek.

"Congratulations on the milestone and the win," Cronk started.

"What was the week like? And you did put the cue to the rack, because you gave up eight missed tackles and almost let Brimson score the matchwinner."

Munster replied with a smile: "Thanks Coops, you always keep me accountable. Appreciate it.

"Big fan of you too Coops. You've got me rattled.

"At the end of the day we go the two points and I'm happy we won, regardless of my 200th game.

"I'll go back the drawing board and play a bit like you Coops, be consistent each and every week."

Meanwhile, the Storm are sweating Ryan Papenhuyzen after the superstar fullback limped off with an ankle injury during the two-point win over the Titans.

On Saturday evening, the 25-year-old informed fans he had a "little fracture above the plate", referring to the surgical plate that was inserted in his leg after breaking his ankle last year.

Melbourne, who have climbed to top spot on the NRL ladder, will next face the Cronulla Sharks for a mouth-watering clash at AAMI Park on Saturday afternoon, with kick-off scheduled for 7.35pm AEST.
