Sources: Harvey agrees to 3-year deal with Hawks

Tyler Harvey has agreed to a new three-year deal to remain with the Illawarra Hawks, sources told ESPN.

The deal will keep Harvey in Illawarra through the 2026-27 NBL season, which would be his seventh with the team.

Harvey -- a 6'4 combo guard -- is coming off his fourth season with the Hawks, averaging 15.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, helping the team to a 14-14 record and eventually a place in a semifinals series against Melbourne United. The Hawks lost that series in three games.

Harvey is the Hawks' first import signing of the off-season, with the 30-year-old American on track to be eligible for Australian citizenship in December of 2025, sources said. If he became an Australian citizen, he would be considered a local player in the NBL.

The California native first joined the Hawks ahead of the 2020-21 season, earning a spot on the All-NBL First Team.

As of Sunday (AEST), the Hawks' other prominent import, Gary Clark, had yet to agree to terms on a new deal, sources said; there's a mixed level of confidence within the franchise's decision-makers on if the team will be able to retain him.

The Hawks will not be re-signing Justin Robinson, sources said.

Harvey will join Sam Froling, Hyunjung Lee, Will Hickey, Wani Swaka Lo Buluk, Todd Blanchfield, Mason Peatling, Lachlan Olbrich, and Daniel Grida as contracted players on the Hawks -- head coached by Justin Tatum -- as NBL Free Agency continues.
