'That's not us': 'Frustrated' Benji laments Tigers' lack of discipline after fiery Dogs clash

A "disappointed" Benji Marshall has lamented his Tigers outfit for lacking disciplines in the fiery closing stages of their clash against the Bulldogs.

Both David Klemmer and Alex Seyfarth were sent to the sin bin for dissent and dangerous contact respectively, with both teams being locked in a heated tussle.

The score sat at 22-14 with seven minutes remaining on the clock, but the Tigers' chances of a comeback evaporated leaving Marshall upset by his team's actions.

"It's simple, you've got to have discipline," Marshall said in the post-match press conference.

"Eight points down and we are still a chance in that game, and to lose two players and play with 11 for the last seven or eight minutes, that's not us."

Meanwhile, Tigers skipper John Bateman added: "We were chasing at the end and obviously we can't do that with 11 men, we cost ourselves a little bit.

"We need to be more disciplined and a couple of calls didn't go our way but we have to back up and move on with it."

Marshall also revealed he believed his side were on the receiving end of several incorrect calls from referee Kasey Badger which frustrated the Tigers.

"Emotion in a game, we expect better from some of our players," Marshall said.

"The build up of, I think we had a lot of calls go against us and it frustrated us a bit. That build up probably took its toll in the end.

"The frustration built up, but it's first grade rugby league and whether you are young or you are old you still have to be disciplined. Those two things to get sin binned were both silly."

For Bulldogs skipper Stephen Crichton, the tension in the clash simply came down to both teams fighting for competition points.

"I think it was just both teams going at it, we were both just fighting for the ball and it got a little bit red hot at the end there," Crichton said.

"But credit to our boys for staying composed and sticking to our structure."
