LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - The Tropicana Las Vegas has officially been issued a demolition permit, according to county records.

County documents show the property and GGG Demolition Inc. were issued a commercial demolition permit Thursday. The permit application was filed earlier this month, according to Clark County officials.

An implosion permit is still pending, however. County officials said implosion of the property would require a blasting permit from the Clark County Fire Department for use of explosives and a separate demolition permit. That demolition permit also requires separate environmental permits for dust and possible asbestos.

As of Thursday, the county said the fire department has not received an application for blasting.

FOX5 previously reported on the Tropicana's dust control permit, which noted the building needed asbestos remediation.

Bally's previously told FOX5 that they were targeting a Fall demolition. The property closed April 2.
