TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A nonstop flight to Tampa will end in August over Boeing's delivery delays.

Southwest announced Thursday it will close its operations at four airports: Bellingham International Airport, Cozumel International Airport, Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport, and Syracuse Hancock International Airport.

Tampa International Airport's list of nonstop flights shows that Syracuse Hancock International Airport has a direct flight to Tampa.

Southwest's booking website shows that the seasonal flight is set to start on June 8. However, no flights are available after Aug. 4.

Tampa International Airport's website still shows nonstop flights to Syracuse are available through Breeze Airways.

Southwest said it is pulling out of the four airports because of aircraft delivery delays and to improve its financial performance.

The airline said it plans to restrict capacity at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Chicago O'Hare International Airport as part of a "significant restructuring."

"The company is working on further optimization of its network with the goal to improve unit revenue performance and operating margins," Southwest said in a news release.

Tampa International Airport's website shows that Southwest currently has 39 direct flights out of the airport.
