Conor McGregor's business empire has just got a bit bigger.

The former dual-weight UFC champion has amassed a £200 million fortune by combining his massive fight cheques with wildly successful alcohol companies and a portfolio of pubs.

Now, he's pumped some of his money into Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship [BKFC] to become a part-owner of the rapidly rising fight promotion.

On Saturday night, a special video message from McGregor interrupted the BKFC KnuckleMania 4 card in Los Angeles.

"'The Notorious' Conor McGregor here," he began.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the huge announcement that I have for you today, Conor McGregor myself and McGregor Sports and Entertainment is now an owner of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships.

"Welcome to the big leagues. David Feldman, baby, we did it."

McGregor shared footage of his announcement on social media, with the caption: "McGregorverse, we are now owner of the fastest growing sport promotion in the world BKFC 'Take off the gloves and fight, b****.'"

BKFC president Feldman was elated by the news after welcoming McGregor to one of his events for an impromptu face-off with Mike Perry in 2023.

"Look, you've got the biggest guy in all of combat sports right now as a part owner of our company," he said during the BKFC KnuckleMania 4 broadcast.

"I think it's just going to move the needle tremendously. We're going to do a lot of big things. We're going to open up a lot of new markets.

"Look, we're partners with Conor McGregor. Everybody in the combat sports world, everybody in the world knows who that guy is. So, Conor, thank you and let's blow this s*** up."

Social media company Triller, which recently merged with Hong Kong-based finance company AGBA in a $4 billion deal, will remain the BKFC majority shareholder.

As a result, McGregor can focus his efforts on making a comeback.

The 35-year-old hasn't fought since breaking his leg during a trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier in July 2021, but he is booked to return later this year.

McGregor will square off against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29.

A win would put him in the perfect position to challenge for titles in several weight classes, but a defeat could spell the end of his career as a top-flight MMA fighter.

Whatever happens, McGregor now seems destined to fight in bare-knuckle boxing at least once before he retires from combat sports.
