CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Browns have selected Louisville wide receiver Jamari Thrash with the 156th pick in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Thrash is the first player the Browns drafted on Day 3 of the NFL draft. He becomes the third player in the Browns 2024 draft class after the team selected Ohio State defensive tackle Michael Hall Jr. and Michigan offensive guard Zak Zinter Friday night.

Thrash, a LaGrange, Georgia native, played at Georgia State from 2019-2022 before transferring to Louisville. For the Panthers, Thrash led the Sun Belt and ranked No. 13 in FBS with 1,122 receiving yards, the second-highest total in Georgia State program history. Thrash also earned First-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors during the 2022 season.

Last season, Thrash caught 63 passes for 858 yards and six touchdowns, all of which led the Cardinals. He also earned Second Team All-ACC honors.

At the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Thrash ran a 4.46 40-yard dash and adds more depth to the Browns wide receiver room but he will have to fight for a role on the roster immediately.

The Browns are slated to pick next during the sixth round at pick 206.
