Several hundred activists gathered in front of the 911 Federal Building on Northeast 11th Avenue in Portland Saturday to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the expulsion of Arab Palestinians from their land by Israeli forces and to protest the United States government's support for Israel.

The Oregon to Palestine Coalition, a collective of activist organizations in Portland, organized the event, which started at 11 a.m. and lasted until about 3 p.m. It ended with a short march down Northeast Lloyd Boulevard and across the Blumenauer Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge.
