On 14 May 2024 a local female was indicted by the Washington County Grand Jury for Engaging in Solicitation After a Positive HIV Test, a 3rd degree felony.

Through investigation, Agents learned and identified at least 211 individuals who had contact with this individual. This information goes back to 2022 when a positive HIV test was verified for this individual.

Officers with the Washington County Sheriff's Office and the Marietta Police Department will be placing phone calls to known phone numbers that had contact with this individual.   THIS IS NOT A SCAM, but a Public Health Announcement.

These individuals are not in trouble.  Officers will be directing the individuals to their local Health Departments for screening and/or treatment for HIV.

Local individuals will be directed to the Marietta/Belpre Health Department located at 304 Putnam Street, Marietta, OH.
